Simpsons Hit And Run For Xbox One

The Simpons: Hit & Run remaster could happen, according to the game's producer, but for now, it doesn't look very likely. For those that don't know: The Simpsons: Hit & Run, released back in 2003 via the GameCube, PS2, PC, and Xbox. And not only did it sell well -- as you would expect -- but it beat the odds and reviewed well, which is rare for a tie-in cartoon game. Since then, it's becoming increasingly a cult-classic, one that many nostalgic gamers have been asking for to return in recent years. That said, there hasn't been anything from Activision suggesting this will happen, however, a producer on the game has suggested it could, and that he would be interested in being involved with the project

I was setting up my Xbox one x and it says on that checklist under settings that it can run 4k, but not HDR or anything like that. I’ve looked at other guides, but cannot find the optimal settings for a Sharp - 58' Class - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR - Roku TV. Model number is: LC-58Q7370U. Jan 16, 2019 Performance and audio is pretty sloppy, at least on my fat PS4 - not tested with any other models. Video quality is low, although the game audio is normally distorted. This is because you can't. Why has Xbox not got Simpsons Hit & Run on the backwards compatible program? This game was amazing and made up most of my childhood, I was talking to friends about how brilliant it was and I had the sudden urge to go play it.

'I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster,' said producer Vlad Ceraldi while speaking to LAD Bible. 'It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again.'

According to Ceraldi -- who's now at Hothead Games -- the prospect of doing something with the game has come up before, but these conversations were never very serious.

'It would be wonderful to reinvest in how you can control the characters, how you can control the world, how much of the world you can explore in detail,' said Ceraldi. 'So there's a lot more fidelity you can go for as far as content exploration than we were able to do in that particular era. There were a lot of references put into the game, but we didn't get everything. There's a lot more things that could be done and that would be fascinating for sure.'

Elsewhere in the interview, Ceraldi claimed he and his team knew the game was going to be something special, despite a long-history of licensed cartoon games being lackluster at best.

'As far as why it stood the test of time, I think it's a game that kids could play, adults could play, anyone who was fans of the show could try and laugh and have fun with,' said the producer. 'When you make something, sometimes you know you've made something special. This was one of the ones that we knew we hit the mark. We didn't know it was going to sell as well as it did - we had high hopes, but it definitely hit its expectations.'

The Simpsons: Hit and Run is one of those classic games which seemingly managed to cross the great divide of turning a fantastic TV Show into a fantastic game.

And now the original producer, Vlad Ceraldi, has stated that he believes the now close to 16 years old cult classic could be due a remaster or full-scale remake.

Speaking exclusively to LADbible , Ceraldi said:

'I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster. It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again.'

Ironically, to prove his point, Ceraldi had first hand seen the impact the game had made when interviewing a candidate for a job some years back.

'I remember interviewing somebody for one of our games – they didn't know that I worked on The Simpsons: Hit & Run. They were going on about one of their favourite games of all time and ended up saying at the end that it was The Simpsons: Hit & Run.

'How much joy they had when they opened it up on Christmas morning and put it in and they ended up playing it all Christmas. They're telling this story and then say they were six-years-old.

Ceraldi also took time to discuss the practicality of remastering the game, something supposedly he's spoken about at length.. down the pub.

'It's come up before in discussions but not seriously, usually at the pub, just talking about the idea of some of the magic that was captured and the potential ability to recapture it in a new way with a different audience, with a different generation of devices.

'There was joy in the making of it as well as obviously the fans playing it – that doesn't always happen but it certainly happened with that game. We had our doubts that it would work out the way we hoped but obviously it did.'

'There's masters out there like Nintendo and other companies who have nailed it time and time again, so it would be wonderful to reinvest in how you can control the characters, how you can control the world, how much of the world you can explore in detail.

'So there's a lot more fidelity you can go for as far as content exploration than we were able to do in that particular era. There were a lot of references put into the game but we didn't get everything. There's a lot more things that could be done and that would be fascinating for sure.'

Unfortunately, those hoping to see the game hit the PS4, Xbox or even future consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett might want to temper their excitement for now though.

According to Ceraldi any decision regarding a remaster or remake will fall directly with those who own the rights to the game.

'It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it,' Ceraldi said, 'but absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again.'
